With thousands of visitors descending on Walton Street every evening, it’s worth planning ahead. Here’s everything you need to know about where to park, how much it costs, road closures, and insider tips to make your visit stress-free.
The easiest way to avoid stress is to use Hull City Council’s Park & Ride schemes.
Priory Park (Henry Boot Way, HU4 7DY)
Main Park & Ride site for Hull Fair.
Frequent buses every 10–15 minutes.
Services run until approx. 11pm daily during fair week.
Large capacity, safe and secure.
Humber Bridge Car Park (Ferriby Road, Hessle)
Additional Park & Ride hub.
Direct shuttle buses to Walton Street.
Ideal for those coming from west Hull, East Riding, or further afield.
Why use Park & Ride? Cheaper, less hassle, guaranteed bus link straight to the fair.
Hull City Council provides public parking around the city centre, all within walking distance or a short bus ride to Walton Street.

Large capacity near the fairground.
Good option if you want to park up and walk straight in.

St Stephen’s Shopping Centre (HU2 8LN)
Secure multi-storey with extended opening during fair week.
~15 minutes’ walk to Walton Street.

During Hull Fair week, Walton Street and nearby roads are restricted or closed. Expect:
Closures on Perry Street, Lowther Street, Lonsdale Street, Sandringham Street, Granville Street, Arthur Street, Walliker Street.
No verge or grass parking (cones and barriers in place).
Enforcement patrols — fines and towing are common.
Arrive early: Especially on weekends and evenings, spaces fill quickly.
